WHO IS HUI ALOHA 'ĀINA MOMONA

We are here to teach our community the value of food security and indigenous food through organic farming practices.

To further our efforts, we also provide workshops on traditional Hawaiian food preparation techniques, healing the land, celebrating native culture, and feeding the people of Hawai'i and beyond.

Our goals of healthy families, communities, and environment are based on everyday lifestyle practices.

WE SAVED OUR FARM FROM DEVELOPERS!

After a year-long campaign starting with an eviction letter in June 2021, we have successfully secured (with the help of the community) the subsistence farm site we have been leasing for the last 8 years! We are now on the way to starting a subsistence farm school to broaden our community impact. Thank you all who helped.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOVLED

We can always use kokua (help). Sometimes, we need hands wrapping 8,000 laulau (traditional dish) for an event, weeding a taro patch, or harvesting and cutting Huli (taro seedlings) for community distribution.

At other times your skills are needed to design an infographic for community events.  Whether you want to learn, donate supplies, or offer a much-needed skill, there is a place for you.
